Firefox lags far behind both Google Chrome and IE8 when it comes to multithreading support. Mozilla has laid out plans to implement multithreading into Firefox over the next two years.

I'm a full time Chrome user these days, but every once in a while I found myself yearning for some functionality previously available to me via Firefox extension. Read my list of extensions that I'll be first in line for when Chrome adds the functionality. Then, I'd love to know which extensions you can barely live without.
