The oft-rumored Google Web Drive feature has been popping up in the news lately, thanks to a slip-up in the Mac version of Picasa that was just released. Could a GDrive be in the not-so-distant future? And how will it play with Chrome?

Hidden in the release notes for the pre-beta 2.0 version of Google Chrome is a mention of a change in the network code in order to bring the Windows version in line with the code of the Mac and Linux version.
