Google Using YouTube to Promote Chrome

Uh-oh. Now its certainly not the first time Google has used its own product to promote another product. In fact, they do it quite a bit. But, man are those YouTube ads annoying.
Now I don’t know about you, but I’d say about 80% of the YouTube videos I watch are more than 1 minute long. This means that I tend to get to the video I like, and sit back and watch. Not too long ago, Google began keeping me from truly sitting back and enjoying my videos, because now annoying advertisements pop up. I have to navigate the mouse to click the “X” on the advertisement, which happens to be a BIT too small, so it you could very well click the ad by accident. This helps NO ONE!
The advertiser has to pay for this click, which has to cause some of the most accidental clicks on Google’s entire ad network, and the user is annoyed and misses some of their movie. Even if the user successfully clicks the “X” to get rid of the advertisement, they’re distracted. Thoroughly.
I’m really surprised that Google is advertising on YouTube clips, considering they’ve been adamant throughout their entire advertising existence that ads will never appear among the natural search results found on the normal Google search pages.
And now to make matters worse, they’re advertising Chrome! I can see it now,
Me: Hey, Friend. Have you tried Google Chrome yet? Its pretty good!
Friend: What?! You mean the thing from those annoying ads that I accidently click when I’m trying to watch my legal, un-copyrighted YouTube videos?
Me: Ugh.
